New Iced-coffee Drink Nominated for Innovative Product of the Year

With the growth of premium specialty coffee shops in the marketplace, consumers’ standards for coffee continue to increase. Industry-leading C-store operator, 7-Eleven, acknowledged this trend and turned to KanPak® to develop a new proprietary iced-coffee product line to help meet consumers’ expectations for in-store high-quality made-to-order coffee offerings. The new product rollout was successful, and as a result, was an entrant in Prepared Foods’ 2010 Spirit of Innovation Award. Prepared Foods is a leading food publication dedicated to the product development process.

“Coffee has evolved during the years and is now popular as a cold drink consumed throughout the day,” said Kevin Grow, KanPak director of product development and technology. “To have a product developed by our team on behalf of a customer be considered for an innovation award is an honor in itself.”

The ready-to-serve coffee is all-natural, comes in a 2.5-gallon shelf-stable aseptic bag-in-a-box package that contains coffee, extract, cream and flavoring and is available in more than 5,000 stores nationwide.
